A well-known trans activist based in Chicago, in December 2024 McIntyre had an encounter with Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) in which she alleges McIntyre assaulted her. Mace received hospital treatment for a broken wrist and McIntyre was arrested on charges of misdemeanor assault.

Julia Alekseyeva

An Assistant Professor of English and Cinema & Media Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and a self-described “socialist and ardent antifascist,” in November 2024, shortly after the apprehension of UPenn alum Luigi Mangione under accusations of murdering United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in cold blood, Alekseyeva posted a TikTok video of her smiling while playing a Les Misérables tune with the caption “Have never been prouder to be a professor at the University of Pennsylvania.” A University of Pennsylvania spokesperson condemned Alekseyeva’s behavior, calling it “antithetical to the values of both the School of Arts and Sciences and the University of Pennsylvania.”

Anthony Zenkus

A senior lecturer at Columbia University’s School of Social Work, in a post on X on December 4, 2024, Zenkus mocked the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson saying, “Today, we mourn the death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, gunned down…. wait, I’m sorry – today we mourn the deaths of the 68,000 Americans who needlessly die each year so that insurance company execs like Brian Thompson can become multimillionaires.”

Taylor Lorenz

A former Washington Post reporter and social media personality, Lorenz made several celebratory and threatening social media posts in the wake of the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. In one Bluesky post that referenced Blue Cross Blue Shield not covering anesthesia for some surgeries, Lorenz wrote, “And people wonder why we want these executives dead.” (sic) Lorenz also posted a picture of Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Kim Keck on X and Bluesky after the news broke of Thompson’s execution, insinuating a call for violence against another health insurance executive. And in an interview with Piers Morgan, Lorenz said she felt “joy” after learning of Thompson’s assassination.

Briana Boston

In December 2024, after the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, Boston made a threatening phone call to Blue Cross Blue Shield stating, “Delay, deny, depose. You people are next.” “Delay,” “deny,” and “depose” were the words scrawled on the shell casings found at the scene of Thompson’s murder. Boston was arrested and charged with threats to commit terrorism or a mass shooting.
