Public Schools Must Sever Ties with Bigoted CAIR

How can any school partner with the CAIR — an organization that was “happy to see” the brutal Hamas terrorist attack on Israeli civilians on October 7? Sadly, it’s happening. Recent news shined a spotlight on formal relationships between the Chicago and Teaneck, New Jersey school systems and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). The collaborations are ostensibly done to “promote inclusion,” but CAIR’s track record shows it to be an organization that does anything but. The last organization that should be instructing any student about “inclusion” is CAIR. In addition to the “blatant and classic antisemitism” spouted by the group’s leaders for years, CAIR has become notorious as an organization that promotes a culture of sexual harassment, misogyny, and even discrimination against fellow Muslims that stretches from its state-based chapters to its national headquarters in Washington, DC. The White House severed ties with CAIR; shouldn’t Chicago and New Jersey public schools do the same? Send a message to Chicago Public Schools CEO Pedro Martinez and Teaneck Superintendent Andre Spencer demanding they cut ties with CAIR and put students first!

New Tolerance Campaign Announces 2023 “Worst of the Woke” Awards

Amazon, Bud Light, the Academy Awards, and More Among Top 10 Worst Woke Offenders of 2023 Nonprofit watchdog the New Tolerance Campaign (NTC) has released its third annual “Worst of the Woke” list — a look back at the year’s most outrageous and disappointing examples of woke culture gone wild. NTC’s 2023 roundup features the top 10 institutions that tried to foist woke politics onto the weary public, with leaders across diverse industries — from retail to entertainment to finance — landing on the list. This year’s theme? Backlash from fed-up consumers. Consider, for example, the massive boycott that led the CEO of Target to admit that the retailer’s woke virtue signaling caused its first quarterly sales drop in six years. Or the fans that catapulted Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” to the top of the charts after Country Music Television pulled it off the air. “In 2023, mainstream institutions leveraged everything from books to beer to promote their woke agendas,” said NTC president Gregory T. Angelo. “However, this year saw a tidal wave of consumers using their wallets and voices to push back against the woke mob, with staggering results. Americans looking for a New Year’s resolution should pledge to keep fighting back against the woke invasion of our country.” Check out NTC’s top 10 worst woke offenders — and one “Champion of Tolerance” — below:   Award Winner: Bud Light / Anheuser-Busch  Reason: For decades, Bud Light had bragging rights as America’s best-selling beer — until April, when an ill-advised marketing campaign with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney went viral for all the wrong reasons. Bud Light’s core customer base felt abandoned, and in turn they abandoned the brand. A sustained boycott led to sales falling a whopping 17%. Then, after Anheuser-Busch executives expressed remorse for the promotion, the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ lobbying organization, stripped the company of its 100% rating as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.” Anheuser-Busch’s attempt at virtue signaling made them everyone’s enemy. Will the brand ever recover?   Award Winner: Target  Reason: Retail giant Target hasn’t been shy about marketing to LGBTQ consumers during “Pride Month” in June, but this year, after word spread that the brand was pushing “pride-themed” clothing for babies and kids, shoppers drew the line. In May, CEO Brian Cornell made the audacious assertion that pushing divisive social issues at the company is “the right thing for society”; by August he was explaining to upset investors that the company’s dalliance with social issues led to a “negative reaction” from consumers. Target experienced its first quarterly drop in sales in six years.   Award Winner: Bank of America Reason: Financial giant Bank of America went “full woke” in 2023, instituting race-based home financing requirements and denying loans to gun manufacturers and the fossil fuel industry. If that wasn’t enough, the company implemented a work reeducation program that insists America is a “racialized society” and encourages employes to be “woke at work.”   Award Winner: The Academy Awards Reason: The Academy Awards implemented onerous “inclusion” standards for filmmakers and movie studios to abide by if they wish to be eligible for “Best Picture” honors. The list is quite something to behold. Quotas that demand that “at least one of the lead actors must be from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group.” In addition, “30% of actors in secondary roles be from underrepresented groups such as LGBT+ and people with cognitive or physical disabilities,” and the plot must “center around an underrepresented group.” It’s estimated that of the 95 Best Pictures in the history of the Oscars, over half would not qualify under these new thresholds. Gone with the Wind, Wizard of Oz, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Singin’ in the Rain, The Sound of Music, The Godfather, Star Wars, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and Schindler’s List all would have been ineligible for top honors. Even recent critically acclaimed movies such as 1917 and The Irishman wouldn’t make the cut.   Award Winner: Country Music Television Reason: Crime has run rampant in America’s cities. Enter country singer Jason Aldean, who wrote “Try That in a Small Town” to contrast the values gap between metropolitan and rural America. After race scolds slammed the song for being a “pro-lynching” anthem, Country Music Television folded fast and yanked the music video off the air. Despite the ban, “Try That in a Small Town” went on to become a #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.   Award Winner: Southern Poverty Law Center  Reason: The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), long known for frivolously flagging groups as “extremists,” was suddenly silent when Hamas terrorists slaughtered more than 1,200 Jewish civilians on October 7 in the worst mass-killing of Jews since the Holocaust. The group shrugged off critics, claiming that it was “outside of our purview and expertise to comment on international events” — despite loudly issuing statements on international events in the past. When CEO Margaret Huang finally spoke up nearly a month later, the schizophrenic statement barely touched on the attack, striking an “All Lives Matter” tone. Remember when we were told saying that was offensive?   Award Winner: Puffin Books  Reason: Wokeness rewrites history to fit political ends. That was literally the case this year, when Puffin Books announced it rewrote “controversial” elements of long-established Roald Dahl children’s classics such as Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, and Matilda. An “enormously fat” boy became simply “enormous,” “Cloud-Men” were now “Cloud-People.” In some cases, entire paragraphs were inserted into books that Dahl had never written. After a public outcry and harsh critiques from literary leaders, the company announced it would continue to publish the original texts.   Award Winner: Amazon  Reason: The internet shopping giant proved that “Big Brother” is closer than you may think. After an Amazon employee claimed to hear a racist remark while making a delivery, the company shut down the owner’s smart home. The kicker? The homeowner is black, wasn’t home, and has video showing the delivery driver wearing headphones at the time of the incident. Even after showing proof of his innocence to Amazon, it

BLM Supports Terrorism. Corporations Must Stop Supporting BLM

Throughout the summer of 2020, corporations were falling all over themselves to proudly proclaim their “anti-racism” and financial backing of Black Lives Matter (BLM), a radical progressive movement founded to “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure” and encourage Americans to view one another first and foremost by the color of their skin. All that is bad enough, but after BLM Chicago posted on X in support of the Hamas terrorist attacks that killed over 1,200 Jewish civilians in Israel on October 7, corporate backing of BLM needs to end now. Some brands, like Coca-Cola, have already scrubbed any mention of BLM support from their websites and social media. Dozens of others have not, including Amazon, Dove, DoorDash, AirBnB, and more. Stop CAIR’s Attempted Inroads in Congress

Warning: CAIR is trying to position itself as the authoritative voice Congress should look to during the Israel-Hamas conflict! But CAIR is the last organization Congress should be looking to for advice. The ADL has chronicled CAIR’s long history of promoting antisemitism — which is now out in the open after Hamas killed more than 1,000 civilians. CAIR’s Executive Director Nihad Awad (pictured) outrageously claimed “there is no difference between Ukraine and Palestine” while likening Hamas gunmen to Martin Luther King, Jr. CAIR’s New Jersey chapter condemned all elected officials in the state who issued statements of support for Israel. A 2021 NPR report recounted a decades-long history of sexual harassment against female employees at CAIR, alongside other reports of discrimination — even against fellow Muslims! Peace in the Middle East will never be achieved with CAIR’s corrupt and radical guidance. Tell your member of Congress: reject this toxic organization!       [Photo: CAIR press conference October 15, 2023 (screen grab)]

Washingtonian Magazine Must Answer for CAIR Recognition

Washingtonian magazine’s new “Most Influential People” annual list highlights the head of CAIR — despite the extremist group’s exposure by NPR for an organizational culture of widespread misogyny and sexual harassment. CAIR leader Nihad Awad has been condemned by the ADL for a history of anti-Semitic remarks, including claiming that Israel “is the biggest threat to world peace and security.” The Washingtonian ignored this intolerance when recognizing Awad. He and his organization’s long track record of extremism, bigotry, and misogyny should have disqualified him from any recognition. Send a message to Washingtonian CEO Catherine Merrill here! NTC Advocates Held Twitter Accountable For Verifying A Hitler-Praising Journalist

Update: When Twitter failed to follow its own account suspension policies, NTC grassroots advocates took action. They sent countless emails to CEO Jack Dorsey demanding that Twitter follow their own rules and stop giving Adeel Raja a prominent place on their platform to promote hate and violence.  Yet again, Twitter failed to follow its own policies on account suspension, this time giving a pass to a reporter who has repeatedly praised Hitler and called for others to continue his murder of the Jews. On May 16 as the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinians continued, CNN freelance contributor Adeel Raja used his verified “Blue Check” account to tweet, “The world today needs a Hitler.” This vile tweet prompted other Twitter users to discover that Raja has been using the platform to spew pro-Hitler bile for years. “Hail Hitler!” Raja declared in July of 2014. “The only reason I am supporting Germany in the finals — Hitler was a German and he did good with those Jews!” he wrote that same year. CNN has since publicly cut ties with Raja, but Twitter continues to allow him to push his anti-Jewish hate with the added benefit of his verified status. Raja deleted the tweets, but then doubled down a day later, tweeting on May 17: “Glad a single tweet contributed to the #Palestine cause and brought it to limelight with me loosing [sic] my job and the West’s claim of Freedom of expression and human rights!” In the past, Twitter has removed verified (“Blue Check”) status, suspended, and even de-platformed accounts entirely that the social media site has deemed to promote hate. Their own rules and policies state that Twitter prohibits “content that wishes, hopes, promotes, incites, or expresses a desire for death, serious bodily harm, or serious disease against an entire protected category and/or individuals who may be members of that category.” For Twitter users, the selective enforcement of the platform’s “hateful conduct” policy has created mass confusion about what is and is not considered acceptable speech—but if wishing for another Hitler in this world does not meet that criteria, what does!? It’s been 76 years since the end of World War II, but for those still living who survived the Holocaust, as well as the families of those who did not, the pain of Adolf Hitler’s evil is still very real. Providing a stage for Adeel Raja to hope for a second Hitler—and the authoritative limelight that comes with a verified account—is beyond the pale.

NTC Advocates Sent Nearly 10,000 Emails to Jersey City Board of Education Calling for Antisemite To Resign

Jersey City Jewish students should not have to be concerned that the officials running their schools view them as “brutes” or deserving of violent attacks, but that’s just what former Jersey City Board of Education member Joan Terrell-Paige did. Terrell-Paige made brazenly anti-Semitic comments in response to the December 10th, 2019  shooting at a kosher market in Greenville, NJ. Two shooters killed a police officer and three others in the attack which authorities said was “fueled by both anti-Semitism and anti-law enforcement beliefs.”   NTC advocates sent nearly 10,000 emails to the Jersey City Board of Education, and after our campaign started, Jersey City mayor Fulop called out Terrell-Paige’s antisemitism. NTC is proud to see our efforts having an impact, and we will continue confronting bigotry and tolerance hypocrisy.

More than 3,600 Activists Emailed Disney Saying Firing Gina Carano is NOT the WAY

More than 3,600 Activists Emailed Disney Saying Firing Gina Carano is NOT the WAY. Disney fired Gina Carano from her role in the Star Wars TV show The Mandalorian over an Instagram post comparing the treatment of conservatives to the Jews during the Holocaust – yet took no action to similarly hyperbolic Holocaust analogies from Carano’s co-star Pedro Pascal. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Carano argued that “to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?” In response, Disney-owned Lucasfilm released a statement saying that Carano was not an employee and would never again be in the future, adding: “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.” Her post does not ‘denigrate’ anyone. Furthermore, Disney met a similarly hyperbolic Holocaust analogy tweeted by her Mandalorian co-star Pedro Pascal – comparing ICE detention facilities to Nazi concentration camps – with silence. Disney has not clarified why it holds her to a different standard than her co-star – or the many Disney-affiliated individuals have compared Donald Trump to Hitler without repercussions. Furthermore, Disney openly partners with a government currently committing genocide against a vulnerable minority. The credits of Disney’s recent live-action film Mulan express “special thanks” to several government entities in Xinjiang, where the Chinese government imprisons citizens in brutal camps because of their Muslim beliefs. Ironically, the company’s over-the-top response seems to validate Carano’s warning about turning neighbors into enemies.

Demand ADL Hold Al Sharpton Accountable for His Anti-Semitic Actions

Political activist Rev. Al Sharpton has a long history of anti-Semitism, including a leading role in one of the worst anti-Semitic riots in U.S. history. Yet the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) – whose founding mission is to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people” – has chosen to partner with Sharpton without even asking for a public apology. ADL leadership needs to hear from Americans of conscience like you that this betrayal of core values for political expediency is unacceptable. The ADL’s stated mission is “To stop the defamation of the Jewish people, and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” To that end, the organization once spoke unequivocally about Sharpton. In a 1992 report in the aftermath of the Crown Heights riots, the ADL assigned Sharpton “a leading role” in the pogrom and named him as one of nine “Black Figures and Community Activists who have Promoted Anti-Semitism.” The report also noted that Sharpton co-chaired an event honoring notorious bigot Louis Farrakhan. In 1992, Sharpton defended gross anti-Semitic comments by Professor Leonard Jeffries, going so far as to declare, “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.” Protesters led by Sharpton called Jews “bloodsuckers” and threatened to “burn and loot the Jews.” One demonstrator then did exactly that, shooting seven people in a store. After years of confronting Sharpton’s anti-Semitic track-record, the ADL has recently joined forces with Sharpton. ADL’s CEO Jonathan Greenblatt has appeared on Sharpton’s MSNBC show, joined him for Capitol Hill press conferences, and partnered with Sharpton to boycott Facebook. As Tablet magazine noted, ADL CEO Greenblatt has “refused even to seek out the most minor price from Sharpton for bringing him back into the fold of acceptability—not even a simple apology that would at least telegraph a distaste for anti-Semitism to Sharpton’s many followers. Greenblatt couldn’t even muster that small gesture.” The ADL needs to hear your voice. Using the form on this page, take a minute to send an email or tweet to the ADL demanding the organization stop betraying its founding mission. No partnering with Sharpton until he takes demonstrable action to atone for his anti-Semitic behavior!

Tell Congress to Retract Their Praise for CAIR

Anti-Semitism has no place in our country, and especially in the halls of Congress. Just yesterday it was reported that a bipartisan group of 120  Members of Congress endorsed the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization with 25 years of giving a platform to Jew-haters. This is a group that was an unindicted co-conspirator in one of our country’s largest terrorism financing trials, and was accused of supporting the internationally recognized terrorist group Hamas. While many understand CAIR’s true nature, no one has made the effort to communicate clearly to Congress that praising CAIR is intolerant. That silence ends now. For every 1,000 petitions signed, NTC will send one “CAIR Bear” item (okay, they’re actually Care Bears) to eight Members of Congress who should know better than to support this racist group: Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Joe Kennedy (D-MA), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Rob Woodall (R-GA) * The Petition We, the undersigned, send this message: You supported a resolution in 2019 that proclaimed opposition to hate and anti-Semitism. Then, you wrote a letter of endorsement for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an intolerant and anti-Semitic organization, on its 25th anniversary. You can’t oppose anti-Semitism and support CAIR. Although CAIR leaders claim to oppose anti-Semitism, they routinely put blatantly anti-Semitic speakers front and center at some of their biggest events, including their recent 25th anniversary gala. No organization that truly opposes anti-Semitism would highlight such prominent bigots. One of the 25th anniversary gala headliners was Representative Ilhan Omar, who has used multiple anti-Semitic tropes, some remorselessly, that are internationally recognized as anti-Semitic, including the dual loyalty canard and promoting the falsehood that Israel controls the world. Her comments were even praised by white supremacist leader David Duke who called her “the most important Member of the US Congress!” Another headliner was Linda Sarsour, who recently left the Women’s March leadership after her anti-Semitic baggage became too much for the organization to bear. Sarsour was also caught in a double standard when she did not include any reference to the Jewish people in a statement commemorating the Holocaust after previously attacking a White House statement the year prior for an absence of a reference to the Jewish people. She has also accused Jewish progressives of having dual loyalty with Israel. Other examples of CAIR speakers espousing anti-Semitism include Professor Hatem Bazian, a UC Berkeley professor who Tweeted anti-Semitic cartoons and spoke at a CAIR Minneapolis event, and CAIR Los Angeles Executive Director Hussam Ayloush, who called for the “termination” of the Jewish State of Israel (as well as the Islamic Republic of Iran). Opposing anti-Semitism and supporting CAIR is contradictory. If you actually oppose racism, you must revoke your support of CAIR. Do it now.   *Up to 25,000 signers
