Nadar Taha

An imam and professor at Kent State University, Taha delivered a sermon at the Islamic Society of Akron and Kent (ISAK) on December 13, 2024, in which he made inflammatory and antisemitic statements about Israel and Jewish people. In his sermon, Imam Taha referred to the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist attack that killed over 1,200 Israelis as the “Al-Aqsa Flood.” Taha praised the attack, calling it both a “miracle” and a victory.

Professor Michael Chikindas

A microbiology professor at Rutgers University, Chikindas has a history of sharing offensive caricatures of Jews, often depicting them with the yellow Star of David worn by Holocaust victims in concentration camps. Reports indicate Chikindas has been engaging in this behavior since at least 2017 when his content was first discovered.

Julia Alekseyeva

An Assistant Professor of English and Cinema & Media Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and a self-described “socialist and ardent antifascist,” in November 2024, shortly after the apprehension of UPenn alum Luigi Mangione under accusations of murdering United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in cold blood, Alekseyeva posted a TikTok video of her smiling while playing a Les Misérables tune with the caption “Have never been prouder to be a professor at the University of Pennsylvania.” A University of Pennsylvania spokesperson condemned Alekseyeva’s behavior, calling it “antithetical to the values of both the School of Arts and Sciences and the University of Pennsylvania.”

Anthony Zenkus

A senior lecturer at Columbia University’s School of Social Work, in a post on X on December 4, 2024, Zenkus mocked the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson saying, “Today, we mourn the death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, gunned down…. wait, I’m sorry – today we mourn the deaths of the 68,000 Americans who needlessly die each year so that insurance company execs like Brian Thompson can become multimillionaires.”

Phil Lowcock

An academic and a former instructor at Kansas State University, in October 2024 — a few weeks before Election Day in the United States — Lowcock stated that any man who refused to vote for Kamala Harris should be “lined up and shot.” Backlash was swift soon after Lowcock’s comments were made public via a university video shared on social media. Both sitting U.S. Senators from Kansas called for Lowcock’s resignation, as did many social media users. Lowcock left his position at Kansas State University soon thereafter.

Professor Russell Rickford

An associate history professor at Cornell University, Rickord was a featured speaker at a pro-Hamas rally. Speaking of the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist attack on Israeli civilians, Rickford said, “It was exhilarating. It was exhilarating. It was energizing!” He continued: “And if they weren’t exhilarated by this challenge to the monopoly of violence, by this shifting of the balance of power, then they would not be human. I was exhilarated.” Rickford is also known to be a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Professor Mark McPhail

A former tenured professor at Indiana University Northwest, McPhail was terminated from his position after issuing a call to “Kill All White People.” After this incident, McPhail was hired as the Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at Linfield University in McMinnville, Oregon. According to The Chronicle, Linfield University President Miles Davis commented on the hiring of McPhail by saying, “His scholarly background and previous experiences in higher education make him an ideal candidate for Linfield as we move forward.”
