A 2019 MAS event in Philadelphia featured children calling for violent revolution, stating: “We will chop off their heads, and we will liberate the sorrowful and exalted Al-Aqsa Mosque.” In 2014, the United Arab Emirates designated MAS as a terrorist group.

In May 2024, Brandeis University decided to withdraw recognition of the SJP chapter on campus with the reasoning of “Support for terrorism cannot be tolerated on college campuses”. A subsidiary of ISNA, The Muslim Students Association (MSA) was founded in the 1960s with explicit help from the government of Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Brotherhood. The organization has been accused of associations with terrorist activities. In 2015, two students of the MSA chapter at Mississippi State University were arrested for attemptIng to travel to Syria in support of ISIS.
