Yara Zokaie

A representative in the Colorado State Legislature, in April 2025 Assemblywoman Zokaie declared concerned parents of trans kids to be “hate groups” and compared them to the KKK. Rep. Zokaie, a Democrat, later doubled down on her statements, citing the Southern Poverty Law Center to justify her assertion that “it’s like asking someone working on civil rights legislation to consult with white supremacist groups.”

Southern Poverty Law Center

Founded as a resource to identify legitimate hate and extremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has bastardized its mission to advance leftist causes and demonize those with whom they disagree.  The SPLC’s infamous “hate” and “extremist” lists now include pro-life, pro-family organizations, groups advocating parental rights in education, and at one point even included Dr. Ben Carson, a renowned brain surgeon who went on to become the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. SPLC’s “Hate Map” has inspired real world incidents of violence such as the 2012 attack by LGBTQ activist Floyd Lee Corkins on the Family Research Council. When asked what motivated his act of violence, Corkins  directly credited the SPLC. In an interrogation video he is quoted as saying, “Southern Poverty Law lists anti-gay groups. I found them online, did a little research, went to the website, stuff like that.” National Headquarters in Montgomery, AL with additional offices in New Orleans, LA; Atlanta, GA; Jackson, MS; Tallahassee, FL; Miami, FL; and Washington, DC.

Human Rights Campaign

The largest and most well-funded LGBTQ activist organization in the United States, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) regularly engages in histrionic rhetoric that gins up violent action by LGBTQ extremists. Despite recognition of same-sex marriage in all 50 states, hate crimes legislation covering gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, and a Supreme Court decision in 2020 that banned employment discrimination for sexual orientation and gender identity, HRC declared a “National State of Emergency for LGBTQ+ People” in 2023. HRC has also issued calls to disregard the law and launched a false campaign about a supposed “national epidemic of anti-trans violence.”

GLAAD

Ostensibly a media-monitoring organization, GLAAD has engaged in numerous provocative actions targeting churches and people of faith. Sarah Kate Ellis, the President of GLAAD, has said repeatedly on news outlets like MSNBC in 2024 that the LGBTQ community is under “attack” from right-wing voices. In 2023, GLAAD joined forces with other organizations and wrote a letter to Target, calling criticisms of LGBTQ pride merchandise examples of “extremism.” In November 2022, GLAAD put out a press release claiming LGBTQ Americans are in danger. In the name of protecting LGBTQ people, GLAAD continually maintains a “Trump Accountability Project” where statements on issues that have nothing to do with sexuality are deemed dangerous to LGBTQ people.

Girl Scouts – St. Louis Chapter 149

A rogue offshoot from Girl Scouts of America, Girl Scouts St. Louis Chapter 149 was de chartered by the national organization after engaging in pro-Palestinian political activism. The organization continues to exist, dropping the GSA affiliation as an “independent” organization now known simply as Troop 149. They have been in the news recently for the troop encouraging their young children to chant provocative phrases such as “Free Palestine” and “Hey Israel, Na Na Na Boo Boo. My Side (grandfather) is older than you.”
