First Lady of New York City Rama Duwaji

Rama Duwaji, the wife of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, is facing growing scrutiny after multiple news reports and posts surfaced online highlighting a pattern of past social media activity that appears to engage with or amplify content tied to extremist narratives.

According to investigative reporting by Jon Levine of the Washington Free Beacon, Duwaji “liked” posts connected to the October 7 Hamas attacks, including content that questioned or downplayed widely reported atrocities. Hamas is designated by the United States government as a foreign terrorist organization.  Additional archived content from a Tumblr account reportedly includes praise for individuals linked to past terrorist activity, such as airline hijacker Leila Khaled. That same archived account shows that she reshared two posts, one blaming white people for creating Al-Qaeda and another disparaging U.S. troops fighting abroad as “not brave nor are they fighting for anyone’s freedom.”

Multiple other screenshots getting circulated online demonstrate her previous use of derogatory slurs. For example, in one X (formerly Twitter) post from 2013 she used the word “F*gg*ts” (in abbreviated terms), and in a reply to a different user she used the highly charged term, “n*gga” (Screenshot 1 and Screenshot 2 clickable evidence). Just two years and a few months later, the now-First Lady of New York City would go on to repost content with language like: “F*ck Tel Aviv. Shouldn’t exist in the first place. They’re occupiers…”

Following increased public attention, it’s now being reported that Duwaji’s old X account (@_RamaDee) has been deleted.
